S. Malika Rushdan: Artisan

Working with Bosnian Refugee Youth between the ages of 12 to 19 proved to be both challenging and rewarding. Young people from the war torn country arrived in America suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and searching for a place to belong and feel safe. My position w/ Roca Inc afforded me the opportunity to conduct culturally specific programming for these Serb, Croatian and Muslim youth. The Mural depicts their memories of their beloved homeland.
